Richard is Head of our Dispute Resolution group. His own practice covers a wide spectrum, including commercial litigation, arbitration and alternative dispute resolution. Richard has extensive experience of major pensions, banking and finance disputes, as well as fraud and global asset tracing, international trade, insurance and reinsurance, as well as commercial and contractual disputes.

Richard has acted for major UK and international clients in numerous large, high profile cases, arbitrations and inquiries, many of which have a strong international element. He has particular experience of multi-jurisdictional disputes, especially those involving European and Anglo-US legal issues.

His recent cases include:

• major pension scheme dispute concerning interpretation of trust deed and members’ rights
• Multi-jurisdiction £700m sovereign loan agreement dispute
• Shareholders’ derivative action and class rights issues
• insurance coverage dispute arising out of asbestosis claims
• £350m Geneva arbitration concerning international supply agreements in England, France, Germany and USA
  

Richard is a CEDR Accredited Mediator, a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Editor of and contributor to The Dispute Resolution Review and a member of the Editorial Board of Bankers' Law.
